You can use IP Relay service on a smartphone, tablet or laptop to make and receive phone calls anywhere there’s an Internet access in United States and its territories!  The relay operator reads aloud the message you typed to the other party and types the other party’s voices message and background sounds, if any, to you.

This service is designed for people who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, or have a Speech Disability.

This relay service is available in English-to-English and Spanish-to-Spanish.

How Does IP Relay Work?

It’s easy to use!

First, register to use the IP Relay by either downloading the T-Mobile IP Relay app on your smartphone or going to tmobileip.com on your tablet or laptop.  You will be prompted to create your username and password, save them.

When you’re ready to make a call via IP Relay, sign in with your username and password.  Type the area code and telephone number you wish to call.  The relay operator will dial the number and connect you to the other party.

    Type your message via IP Relay.  Type “GA” (“Go Ahead”) at the end of each message.

    The relay operator reads aloud the message you typed to the other party.

    The other party listens, then speaks.  When they say, “Go Ahead”, it is your turn to respond.

    The relay operator types the other party’s voiced message to you.

To conclude the call, type “GA to SK” (“Stop Keying”) to indicate that you are ready to disconnect.
